One of our favorite and most popular baby shower invitations is Wild Arrival From The Jungle, so we decided to throw a baby shower to show you all the different safari baby shower ideas we could come up with using the jungle animal theme. We held the party in an atrium of our building, which was filled with lush plants and perfect for a jungle theme.
We did a little hunting and found this fantastic green dresser at our local thrift store. It fit in so well in our little jungle we decided to use it as our dessert table and decorated it with a burlap table runner down the middle. We used a mixture of lanterns and tissue poms hanging above it to make it our focal point, along with garland made from our Jungle Table Decor.
We filled the dessert table with sweet treats that all had some sort of tie-in to our jungle theme, including banana bread circles, lion cake pops and a matching cake! To make the banana bread circles we used a cookie cutter to cut our slices into perfect circles, and topped them with whipped cream and a slice of banana. The lion cake pops were peaking out of tall grass, just like on a real safari. But the main focal point was the cake. We matched the colors perfectly to the invite and added polka dots to the side to match the table décor. To make the cake toppers we used more of the same Jungle Table Décor and hot-glued pieces to wooden skewers of varying lengths. For beverages, we wrapped glass bottles in burlap tied with twine and filled them with sparkling water and a slice of lemon. How refreshing after a long day on safari!
We set up a table with place settings that were coordinating, yet different from each other to add a little personality to the table. All of the dinnerware was in green and yellow colors to go along with our other safari baby shower ideas. Each place setting had a unique bamboo style placemat and different leaves under the plates. We then enjoyed our cake and sparkling water!
We wanted to do something extra special for party favors. Since our party was very green and full of plants, we decided it would be perfect to let the guests take a part of that theme home with them. We purchased an assortment of small houseplants and planted each one in a small mason jar. We then used personalized stickers from Pear Tree Greetings to write a little message, ‘Take me home and watch me grow’ on the jars. They were a hit!
If you like our safari baby shower ideas, we would love to see how you incorporate them, and any new ideas you have, into your baby shower! Share your photos on Facebook and Instagram using #peartreegreetings.
Shelly recently graduated from college and even more recently accepted a full-time position as a Marketing Coordinator at Pear Tree. But she’s not exactly new to the team, having spent the prior year here as our marketing intern and Jill-of-all-trades. Shelly loves fashion, has tons of style, and as a result, was naturally drawn to Pear Tree’s unique designs. She is also an amazing baker, and it wouldn’t be a Pear Tree meeting without Shelly’s cupcakes!
