Does it seem like all the Christmas cards you see say “Happy Holidays” when you’re looking for a “Merry Christmas” message? Pear Tree Greetings has made it easy for you to find religious Christmas cards, by pulling them together all in one place just for you.
My son is away at college, and based on our last phone call it sounds like he needs a little cheering up. My happy-go-lucky boy is facing the pressure of challenging classes and a grueling sports schedule. I know there’s not much I can do to help, but I still feel compelled to try. It’s time for a letter to my son and here are 10 things I will say:
- What I’m about to say is important. See? It’s so important that I actually wrote it on paper instead of putting it in a text message. No matter what else this letter says, it says someone cares.
- This, too, shall pass. When you are feeling lonely or ugly or scared or embarrassed or frustrated, try to see yourself as I see you: friendly, beautiful, brave, humble and persevering. Then give it a day or two. Things will be looking up. I’m sure of it.
- You are not the only one who’s having a bad day. Talk to people — your roommates, a teacher, your advisor, or the person sitting next to you on the bus. You may share a laugh. You may get some good advice. You will probably find your troubles are nothing compared to theirs. Continue reading

Angela, The Trendsetter
This is my favorite card because it’s just completely different from anything anyone else will be sending this year. I call the look, “rustic glam.” Between the kraft paper, faux foil letters and jute twine holding it all together, it’s the perfect mix of natural and shiny materials, which fits my eclectic style. Not only that, but there’s room for five photos on the back, so each of my four kids gets a spot, with one left for mom & dad. Perfect!
Brandon, The Artsy Guy
My favorite card from this year’s collection? Hands down, Shiny Foil Dots. The big foil stamped dots on the front add the perfect amount to glitz to help your holiday photo shine. You can also choose one of our four foil options. (My favorite is the gold glitter.) The back offers a collage of eight photos, which allows you to show off anything you wish. You can add your finishing touch by adding your own personal greeting to the front. Feliz Navidad!
Brianna, The Mom With Three Girls
Each year when it comes time to choose a holiday card, I look for the same three things: unique design, lots of photos, and room to write about the family’s year. The Be Jolly Ribbon Booklet Christmas card is perfect because the booklet format includes many spots for photos, along with a place to write a short letter about the year. Plus, I know that anyone who receives the card will be amazed by the design, because it’s not your traditional flat holiday card.

From your save the date cards to your thank you notes, all your wedding stationery can have the same awesome look–if you know where to shop! Some stationery companies are known for their formal ensembles, but what if that’s not the look you want? For a more contemporary look, try Pear Tree Greetings, a company that’s known for its modern photo cards and amazing designs.
Your save the date cards are the first things your guests will see regarding your wedding (and may even serve as an engagement announcement for those who haven’t heard the news)! It’s an important piece of information, but that doesn’t mean it has to be formal. If it reflects your personality as a couple, then everyone who receives it will be delighted. It’s not necessary to match your save the dates to the rest of your wedding stationery, but if you can, why not?
What’s a Sip & See, you ask? It’s a party that the new parents host after the baby is born to introduce him or her to all their friends. Unlike a traditional baby shower, gifts and games are not the main attraction at a Sip & See — instead, it’s all about the baby!
Advantages to a Sip & See
The biggest advantage to a Sip & See is that everyone gets to meet the new baby. But there are plenty of other reasons that you, as new parents, might find this an attractive baby shower idea. At a Sip & See, you get to make all the decisions. You can decide what to serve, whom to invite, when to have it, and whether or not there will be any embarrassing shower games. And you can avoid the awkward, one-by-one opening of gifts that can so easily drag down a baby shower.
You want your wedding day to be a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, memorable event, but you don’t have an unlimited budget. Here are some wedding ideas that will help you keep costs under control. Even one or two of them could save you hundreds of dollars!
Flowers: A growing trend at larger flower stores and farmers markets is to offer DIY workshops where you can bring friends and create your own bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres or floral decorations a few days before the wedding. We’ve also heard of people offering to do it as a gift to the wedding couple.
Invitations: Wedding invitations can run from ultra high-end to DIY. If you’re considering a rustic or more casual theme, this might be a good place to save money. Pear Tree offers beautiful two-sided wedding invitations for less than $1 each!
